Facility Rental

The Blanton welcomes you to host a wide range of events in our unique and exclusive rental spaces. Whether you are planning an elegant wedding reception or a contemporary film screening, the Blanton Museum of Art offers a one-of-a-kind setting for your event.

Spaces available for rental in The Blanton's Michener Gallery Building or Smith Building include:

Mari and James A. Michener Gallery Building

Rapoport Atrium

This dramatic space with its soaring 50-foot ceiling and spectacular skylights serves as the centerpiece of the museum. Whether you wish to host a black-tie dinner or a grand reception, the Rapoport Atrium will make a lasting impression on every attendee. Rental of this space includes access to galleries on the first floor of the Michener Gallery Building except during exhibition installation.

Capacity for reception: 300
Capacity for seated engagement: 150

Rental Rate: $5,000
UT Departments and Colleges Rental Rate: $4,000

Mezzanine

In addition to the Rapoport Atrium, the Michener Gallery Building includes a large mezzanine overlooking the main floor space. The Mezzanine is a perfect location for pre-event cocktails or an exclusive lounge. In addition, the galleries on the second floor display an impressive variety of art sure to engage and delight all who attend your event.

Capacity for reception: 500+
Capacity for seated engagement: 150

Rental Rate: $2,000 (must be rented in conjunction with the Rapoport Atrium)
UT Departments and Colleges Rental Rate: $1,500

Huntington Gallery (Wedding Ceremonies)

The Huntington Gallery provides a stunning setting for wedding ceremonies. Soaring ceilings with natural light, glossy wood floors, and contemporary artwork by internationally known artists make this ceremony space a one-of-a-kind location.

Rental Rate: $2,000 (must be rented in conjunction with Rapoport Atrium, includes use of the Mezzanine)

Edgar A. Smith Building

Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Grand Foyer

The Long Grand Foyer in the Smith Building is ideally suited to private evening receptions up to 200 guests, or intimate seated dinners under 80.

Mezzanine

The Mezzanine in the Smith Building is ideal for use as a reception space in conjunction with an auditorium program. It features beautiful views of the Faulkner Plaza and the Michener Gallery Building.

Blanton Auditorium

The Blanton Auditorium in the Smith Building may be privately rented for special speaker engagements, panel presentations, and film screenings. No food or beverage permitted inside auditorium. The auditorium comes equipped with A/V capabilities with rear digital projection, film screen, and built in seats with tablet arms.

Capitol Room

The Capitol Room in the Smith Building features prominent views of the Texas State Capitol Building and is ideally suited as a conference room, lecture hall or private reception space. The room comes equipped with A/V capabilities, a digital projector, moveable chairs with tablet arms, a whiteboard and carpeted flooring. In-house catering is available.

Monday – Friday, between 9 AM and 5 PM

Outside of Business Hours
Rental Rate: $1,500

Meadows Classroom

The Meadows Classroom in the Smith Building is suited for small group meetings, seminars, classes, or retreats during regular business hours. The room comes equipped with A/V capabilities, moveable tables and chairs, a whiteboard and vinyl flooring. The Meadows Classroom is available Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM only.
In-house catering is available.

Rental Rate: $500
UT Departments and Colleges Rental Rate: $250

Event Planning Notes:

• No food or drink is permitted in the galleries.
• Tables, chairs, and other rental equipment are not included in rental pricing. 
• No fundraising or political events are permitted at the Blanton Museum of Art.
• Approved non-profit organizations are eligible for special rates and must provide a valid tax ID indicating their 501(c)(3) status. 
• No products or services may be sold at the museum in conjunction with an event, nor may any products be displayed.
• No red wine may be served in either building.
• No open flame is permitted in either building.

The Blanton provides a list of approved caterers who have extensive experience working with the museum’s facilities and procedures. Our experienced Special Events staff can also recommend other vendors from our preferred list, to help you create an unforgettable event.
