Coupled with the celebrated Mari and James A. Michener Gallery Building, the new Smith Building marks the completion of the Blanton complex.
The Smith Building houses a number of visitor amenities including a full-service café; an expanded museum shop; a state-of-the-art auditorium; and three classrooms for educational and hands–on activities. It also is home to the administrative offices of the Blanton staff.
The Blanton Café offers visitors a relaxing spot in which to enjoy a variety of sandwiches, gourmet flat bread pizzas, salads, signature desserts, and of course, coffee drinks and smoothies.
A limited menu is served after 2PM on weekdays and on the weekends.
The Café will be open until 9 PM on Third Thursday evenings and during B scene.
The newly expanded Museum Shop houses treasures as varied as those in the Blanton's collection. Visit the new 1,700 square foot space for a special selection of books, cards, jewelry, glassware and other artful treasures.
