Within the Blanton's collection of European paintings certain schools are represented in unusual number and quality: 15th-century Milanese, featuring Michelino da Besozzo, Bernardo Butinone, and Ambrogio Bevilacqua; 17th-century Lombard, including Cerano, Daniele Crespi, and Carlo Ceresa; 17th-century Neapolitan, including Cavallino, Preti, Giordano, Solimena; 17th-century French, with multiple works by Claude Vignon and Simon Vouet; and 18th-century Venetian, with works by such artists as Ricci, Piazzetta, Tiepolo, and Zugno. The holdings of the school of Genoa, from Luca Cambiaso in the mid-16th century through Baciccio, Gregorio De Ferrari, and Domenico Piola in the late 17th, is the largest and finest outside of that city.
